Cape Milner reopens to guests in time for festive season

  • Tamboerskloof boutique gem reopens for day visitors and overnight stays with special accommodation packages and food and beverage promotions
  • Location. Location. Location. Away from the city, but centrally located for easy access to Cape Town’s top attractions – ideal for self-drive

Cape Town’s leafy Tamboerskloof suburb gets its boutique gem back just in time for the festive season, with the reopening of The Cape Milner Hotel on 15 December.

The hotel has spent its COVID-shutdown getting well and truly prepared to welcome guests and the team is raring to go, says Natasha Palterman, The Cape Milner GM.

“After a tough year for our tourism and hospitality industry, our imminent reopening has instilled within our team a strong sense of optimism for the future and an opportunity to start afresh, rebuild and recover well into 2021,” says Palterman.

A haven for the production industry, international visitors and South African business and leisure travellers, The Cape Milner appeals to those guests who seek tranquillity and an escape from the city, while being close enough to enjoy its vibe.

“Our guests appreciate our hub location and easy access, within minutes, to several key Cape Town treasures – Table Mountain, Camps Bay, the V&A Waterfront and Kloof Street. We really are in the heart of it all, but being in the City Bowl suburbs gives us that neighbourhood feel you wouldn’t get right in the middle of a busy city,” she says.

For Palterman and her team, the prospect of reopening to show off their newly upgraded rooms for the upcoming season is one that has them filled with excitement and they’ve been hard at work to ensure all the internationally accepted and approved hygiene and health protocols have been put in place not only to safeguard guests and staff, but to deliver real comfort too.

Self-drive locals with last-minute plans to visit Cape Town will be pleased with the secure, complimentary underground parking and the fact that they’re just a short hop away from all the attractions. But it is the staycation specials from R776 per person sharing per night, including breakfast, that will really delight.

A date-night offer at R1,900 per couple and three-night family stay from R5,532 for two adults and two children, under 12, including accommodation, daily breakfast and activity vouchers are just a few of the attraction specials on offer, making it easier than ever to visit Cape Town with the whole family, or perhaps a group of friends seeking a convenient base.

“Our swanky Glass Lounge has always been a firm favourite with locals and guests who want to enjoy a nightcap with the magnificent view of Table Mountain visible right through the roof. We’d love to see our day visitors return for a meal, sundowners and that renowned hospitality our staff are renowned for, so we can celebrate together what makes this Cape Town neighbourhood so special,” says Palterman.

The Cape Milner is part of the Extraordinary Collection of Lodges and Hotels in Southern Africa. These destinations include a wide range from Cape Town to private concessions in the Kruger National Park through to the North West and Limpopo safari areas.
