South Africa’s world-famous Kruger National Park (KNP) was named the 9th most popular national park in the world on short-form video-focused social networking service TikTok, according to research by US-based travel experts at ParkSleepFly. The study analyzed the view counts of national parks in the US, UK, and the rest of the world. The globally renowned Kruger National Park amassed 98,700,000 views in the top 10 list dominated by the national parks Yellowstone National Park, Denali National Park, Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Glacier National Park, and Redwood National Park. From outside the US were Göreme National Park (Turkey) and Lake District National Park (UK). According to the analysis, the US contributes a total of seven of the world’s most popular national parks. Yellowstone National Park is the most popular on TikTok, with 630.3 million views, 339 million views ahead of Denali National Park in second place. “The methodology gathered a list of all of the US and UK national parks as well as national parks around the world. These were then ranked according to the number of views posts tagged with the name of the national park had garnered on TikTok, as of the 19th November 2021,” according to a media statement.
