The Radisson Hotel Group Nigeria hosted a festive Christmas party on Thursday evening at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Nigeria. Guests enjoyed an evening filled with laughter, music, and holiday cheer as they celebrated the season.
Yemi Oyekanmi, District Manager, Marketing & Communications Radisson Hotels in Nigeria, extended an invitation to Nomad Africa Magazine to felicitate with the Radisson Hotel Group.
The invitation-only event kicked off at 6pm by the poolside with a DJ providing the soundtrack for the evening. Guests were treated to cocktails, wine, and finger foods while socializing with friends and industry colleagues. Notable attendees included Toni Ukachukwu from Aviator Magazine, Oluwaseyi Adegoke-Adeyemo of Inside Watch Africa, and actress and singer Shaffy Bello.

At the event, Adekunle Owolabi of Nomad Africa interviewed Ahmed Raza, General Manager of Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island. The Radisson Blu Anchorage is the flagship hotel of the Radisson brand in Nigeria and is situated in the heart of the city’s business district.
During the interview, Owolabi asked Raza (as he is fondly called), about the challenges and opportunities faced by the hotel industry in Nigeria, considering the economic changes and political landscape. Raza acknowledged the difficulties but remained optimistic about the future, highlighting Radisson’s commitment to Africa and its plans for expansion in Nigeria.
“Our commitment to Nigeria remains strong. We are present in 35 African countries and have the largest footprint of any management company. We are currently operating five hotels in Nigeria, with plans to reach 20 in the next five years. Nigeria’s potential for tourism is immense, and we believe in the talent and potential of its youth,” stated Raza.
He further elaborated on Radisson’s unique brand promise and emphasis on personalized service, attributing the company’s success to its commitment to quality, training, and resource management.

Later in the evening, guests were invited to a special dinner hosted in the hotel’s exclusive business lounge. Radisson Hotels’ Executive Chef Gilles Debie, with 40 years of experience in the industry, catered to the guests with a diverse menu featuring flavours from Europe, the Far East, India, and Indonesia.
“I wanted to create an explosion of flavors that combined different countries and regions,” explained Debie. “The menu featured a glazed turkey with soy sauce, served with plantain, sweet potato, and a delicious teriyaki sauce, offering a unique blend of European, African, and Japanese flavors.”
Debie recommends the glazed turkey as a must-try for guests visiting the Radisson hotel this season, highlighting the combination of European tradition with local ingredients and Japanese inspiration.
