As I approach in my Uber, I am yet again dismayed at the heavy traffic that just infused in front of us. Being lost and unable to track the place. I finally dialled the number.
Since its first launch in 2006, opening the Capital Pearls and now with their newest apartment set to open early 2019.
The bumper to bumper was killing me as my excitement was slowly wearing off me. If I should say, Rosebank after 3 pm is busy traffic. Reaching my destination and with the huge smile on my face – I literally jumped up to my seat alerting my driver with amusement. Surely, he has seen characters but not ones like me.
Entering into the palace of my excitement. I’m yet too astonished by the way they have done their colour schemes, exterior, and their interior. The elegant choice of pure beautiful furniture that compliments the scenery. The commissioner came out opened the door and simply said, “welcome to The Capital and hope your stay here with us will be worth it?” What? I love it already.
Ground floor entering the reception is one colour coordinate that will surely leave you breathless.
“Even though there are many apartments, we believe that this one will cater for those visiting and not looking for anything fancy. Either self-cater or ordering from the restaurant downstairs. We still strive in making our visitors expectations well exceeded.”
On checking in, I just realized I forgot my ID. The man at reception looked at me puzzled yet understood that these sort of things happen! With a quick look into my old emails and cloud storage, I managed to scrounge one out. The convenience of technology in action!!
Checked in peacefully and happy, I was escorted to my room with just four floors. I was put on the second floor in a one-bedroom apartment with more than 109 rooms. A safe key, although hard doors to open as if literally needs just a bit of strength from you – I gushed in. Small? Yes, for one person it is big and comfortable. The Capital here really never lied when they said, “we hope you’ll enjoy your day”. I was just going ballistic and just couldn’t keep any more emotions in me. The porter left and I wanted to see the beauty from my own naked eye. Just entering I was greeted by the kitchen, with a fridge, microwave, kettle, and pots. (This is definitely a self-caterer) walking in was the dining room. With just one leather arms chair and a two-seater couch. I definitely am not forgetting the WIFI, Netflix and YouTube channels.
Stepping in the more serious things now, the bedroom. I should say the King’s bed covered in all white just reassured me of my emotions. The interior colour in this apartment is definitely one calming, not too dark too. But just elegantly complementary. I can assure you that you will definitely wake up a different person. The drawers have a safe and hairdryer for those wet-hairs that need some straightening. The en-suite bathroom with just the shower and bath was perfectly incarcerated with love and timing.
The neatness of this place is Beautiful, it has room service, even the smell of the whole place smells as though it has been fragmented with cleanliness. Have some rigged clothes and want to do some DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) then you can be assured that there is an iron and board for you.
Balcony could be more disappointing as it is as if it was meant for one person. I believe it is with all their hotels and apartments here in Sandton. There is no outdoor beside the parking lot. Swimming pool, well that I’ll have to just wait for you to see, maybe I’m not just a good judger, but someone can say too – small.
The apartment Melrose offers conferencing facilities, an a la carte restaurant and bar, swimming pool and an on-site gym.
“The Capital Melrose will offer a 360-degree lifestyle solution to those working in and visiting Johannesburg, with its proximity to the city’s premium retail, dining and office precinct, as well as easy access to the city’s main highway,” adds Wachsberger. “It’s at the heart of one of the city’s most energetic and exciting locations, within walking distance of exceptional shopping and restaurants, and just a short drive away from the Sandton CBD.” Marc Wachsberger said the MD of the Capital hotels and apartments
Overall experience was made to every bit and I’m truly honoured in having spent the night in such an amazing place.
