Air carrier TAAG Angola is ramping up its commitment to the Nigerian travel market, citing its “resilience, excitement, and prosperity” as a key driver.

George Mawadri, TAAG Angola’s Director of Sales for Africa, spoke at a recent travel trade forum in Lagos, outlining plans to better serve Nigerian travelers. This includes the deployment of new Airbus aircraft on the popular Lagos-Luanda route, replacing the previously used Boeing 777s. These new planes will also service established routes to Madrid, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, and London.

Recognizing the importance of convenience, TAAG Angola is also addressing layovers in Luanda, its central hub. Additional day flights departing Lagos on Tuesdays and Saturdays will complement the existing night flights offered on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These day flights will provide a more convenient option for travelers seeking a smoother travel experience.

“We are working hard to respond to the expectations and travel plans of our customers,” said Mawadri. “We are here to listen to your concerns and feedback so that we can serve you better and help sustain this very vibrant market.”

Efficiency was another key theme addressed by Mawadri. He emphasized TAAG Angola’s commitment to prompt refund processing, highlighting their streamlined and customer-centric approach. “We are confident we are ahead of the competition in this area,” he stated.

Olushola Olajide, TAAG Angola’s Sales Manager for Nigeria, encouraged travel professionals to explore the airline’s extensive network. “We offer seamless connectivity to emerging tourism destinations like Windhoek, Namibia; Maputo, Mozambique; Sao Tome and Principe; Cape Town, South Africa; and Johannesburg, South Africa,” he said, highlighting the potential for packaged tours and adventure travel experiences.

The event was a success, drawing over 150 travel professionals in person and virtually from across Nigeria. TAAG Angola expressed their gratitude to the Nigerian travel industry and the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) for their ongoing support and positive collaboration. TAAG Angola also recently partnered with Harvey World Travel Southern Africa.
