The Ritz-Carlton has announced the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam, its first property in Morocco. Nestled within 440 hectares of lush gardens and forest, and just steps from the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, the hotel offers a luxurious and tranquil retreat in Rabat, Morocco’s vibrant capital.

Rabat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is celebrated for its rich cultural history, blending Hispano-Moorish heritage with modern influences. The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam is located just minutes from the city’s historic center, offering guests a gateway to explore Rabat’s architectural wonders and cultural landmarks.

The hotel features 100 guestrooms and 17 suites, all with private terraces offering views of the gardens and pool. Each room merges Baroque opulence with Moroccan artistry, featuring intricately designed headboards, grand mirrors, and luxurious marble bathrooms. The Royal Suite, at 180 square meters, provides an especially lavish experience.

Dining at The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam celebrates local and international flavours. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean-inspired dishes at the Mediterranean Brasserie, relax with afternoon tea in the elegant Lobby Lounge, or experience Pan-American cuisine at Palapa, the poolside restaurant. The hotel’s Blind Tiger speakeasy offers a cozy atmosphere with cocktails inspired by the Prohibition era.

For relaxation, the hotel offers a Ritz-Carlton Spa with saunas, hammams, and ten treatment rooms, including two couple’s suites. The spa is inspired by Moroccan traditions and features an indoor pool with a stunning glass roof. Guests also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, open 24/7, and the prestigious Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, known for its 45-hole golf course spread across the estate’s oak forest.

The hotel’s beautifully landscaped gardens, Andalusian-style fountains, and expansive pool provide a serene backdrop for guests seeking peace and tranquillity. For events, The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam offers a Grand Ballroom and over 2,200 square meters of outdoor event spaces, ideal for weddings, conferences, and private celebrations.

The Ritz-Carlton Rabat features a collection of outdoor spaces with Andalusian-style gardens, whispering fountains, and plenty of shaded cabanas. To further enhance the guests’ stay, the hotel offers saunas, hammams, ten massage rooms, two couple’s sweets, an indoor pool, a fitness centre and three golf courses. Meeting and event spaces are also available for every kind of event, meeting or celebration.

The ceiling is decorated with muqarnas”, an iconic Arab-Andalusian architectural element from the Almoravid era, while the walls feature Moroccan “Gebs” frescoes that boast the mastery of local artisans. Every detail tells a unique story, capturing landscapes, scenes of daily life, historical events of the Moorish past or stories of the legends of Morocco. Bonsai trees bring a touch of nature to the palace’s interior, while a Rococo chandelier adds a touch of theatrical splendour.

“This debut is a significant milestone for The Ritz-Carlton brand as we expand our presence in Africa,” said Helen Leighton, Vice President, Luxury Brands, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Marriott International. “Guests can expect the brand’s legendary service, exceptional design, and a stunning natural setting that together create a unique luxury experience.”
