The Sharazad Wonder’s Hotel in Stone Town, Zanzibar, proudly announces its prestigious recognition by Condé Nast Traveller as one of “The 10 Best Hotels in Zanzibar.” Condé Nast Traveller’s annual list of the world’s finest hotels, resorts, cruise ships, and destinations sets the standard for luxury travel experiences. Being included among “The 10 Best Hotels in Zanzibar” is a testament to The Sharazad Wonder’s Hotel’s commitment to excellence in hospitality and service.

“We are delighted that the Stone Town Hotel has been recognized as one of the ‘Best 10 Hotels’ by the 2024 Condé Nast Traveller List in only its second year of operation,” remarked Simon Wood, Owner and Director of Seaside Ltd., and Francesca Scalfari, Owner and Managing Director. “At Stone Town Sharazad Wonder’s, we pride ourselves on design excellence, bespoke hospitality, and unparalleled facilities, creating refined experiences that perfectly reflect the Wonder’s way of living.”

The Sharazad Wonder’s Hotel offers guests a unique blend of eco luxury and historic charm. Located in the heart of Stone Town, the hotel is housed within a beautifully renovated ancient Omani house, featuring design highlights such as an antique Zanzibarian door and a historic courtyard. With eight rooms, the hotel provides an intimate and immersive experience in the vibrant center of old Stone Town.

“Our team members are the creators bringing you the Sharazad Wonder’s hospitality magic,” added Simon. “Winning the most coveted title on the prestigious Condé Nast List is a true testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion.”

The Sharazad Wonder’s Hotel is part of the esteemed Sharazad Family, which includes the Sharazad Boutique Hotel and the Sharazad Oasis Retreat. These properties, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Zanzibar, offer guests unparalleled experiences and support the local community through sustainable practices.

Simon and Francesca, the visionary owners behind The Sharazad Wonder’s Hotel, have a rich history of dedication to hospitality and sustainability in Zanzibar. Their journey began in 2016 with the opening of the Sharazad Boutique Hotel, followed by the launch of the Sharazad Retreat Hotel in 2020.

Simon’s deep connection to Zanzibar traces back to his initial visit, where he was captivated by the island’s beauty and culture. This fascination led him to realize his dream of relocating to Zanzibar, where he built his private residence inspired by the Riad House style, complete with a veranda and a pool.

Today, the Sharazad Retreat and Sharazad Oasis in Jambiani epitomize luxury and sustainability, nestled in over 2.5 hectares of pristine land along the breathtaking Jambiani beach. Proudly supporting the local community, Simon and Francesca have become leaders in sustainability on the island.

To maintain the island’s traditional building techniques and support the local economy, Simon made a conscious decision to utilize solely local labor and materials. Furthermore, the beach hotels are equipped with state-of-the-art sustainability features, including solar panels, LED lights, a desalination plant, and comprehensive garbage recycling initiatives. These efforts not only preserve the fragile habitat but also foster the growth of local vegetation, ensuring a harmonious relationship with the environment.

The commitment to sustainability and community engagement continues to shape The Sharazad Boutique Hotel brand, providing guests with unforgettable experiences while contributing positively to Zanzibar’s ecosystem and culture.
